Thanksgiving

I cannot believe Thanksgiving has come and gone and Christmas is less than 3 weeks away. Why does time insist on moving so quickly? :) We had a wonderful Thanksgiving week. Mom and Will found a great house at the beach about a mile from our shared-family place. It has been a wonderful alternative when it's not our week to have the beach house. Mom rented the new house from the 20th through the 30th and so Friday after school got our for Thanksgiving break, Sarah Austin and I came home and packed. TJ wasn't able to go beacuse of work and hunting, Josh and Jennifer weren't able to go either. Fortunately, Lisa and "baby Emily" (as Emma Cate calls her) were able to join us. We got down there Friday night and I could immediately feel the glorious feeling of vacation. :) What an awesome time we had! Oma had ridden down with mom and seemed very happy to be there too. Lisa, the baby and I came home late Monday night ( I had a dr.'s apt on Tuesday, yuck!) and the girls came home with Mom on Wednesday night.
On Thursday we (all the Wohlford clan) gathered at Oma's for Thanksgiving lunch. Everybody was home except for Ben. :( We somehow crammed 47 people into Oma's house and back yard. We ate wonderful food that has become our tradional fare. Marie brought the broccoli cheese casserole, cornbread dressing and gravy. Aunt Cynthia brought watergate salad, sweet potato casserole and a vegetable tray. Mama brought her famous cream cheese poundcake and purple hull peas (put up from her garden, of course). Jennifer made the mashed potatoes and some yummy green beans. This is a partial list of course but shows who always makes what and how we would be really sad if the menu ever changed. :)
After lunch, we cleaned up and visited and then joined the great-grands outside. They were enjoying a football game amongst themselves along with the three youngest grandboys. (yes, we have enough for a team lol) Every year we gather for family pictures and then one big picture. I haven't uploaded mine yet but have received a couple that I will include.
What a wonderful day we had together. How very blessed we are to have one another and to enjoy each other's company as much as we do.

Thank you Lord for blessing me with such a loving family. Thank you that I was blessed with grandparents who raised their kids to know and love you and they inturn taught their kids the same.

*couldn't get the pictures to fit the screen. :( Will work on it some more
