I ordered milk, like I always do, but this time while talking with Sarah Austin I absentmindedly added ice to it. I love cold milk but never add ice to it. This is what Oma always did.
It still seems so surreal that she's gone. Oh I know she wouldn't come back for no amount of money, but my heart hurts. I miss her so much. What a blessing to have had her for so long. What a blessing that she was such a part of our every day. What a blessing my cup of memories overflows. What a blessing to have known how much and how deeply we were loved by her. What a blessing to know she is in heaven and that one day we will see her again. Lord, help me remember these things and not how much I miss her. Help me keep her memory alive in my girls so they will never forget her or how much they were loved by her.

Just now seeing this post. I'm so glad that you have those precious everyday life memories of your Oma! My grandparents all lived over 2 hours away my entire life, and I wish I could've had more of an everyday life with them. You and your girls are truly blessed. I know it's hard to let them go; I still miss my grandparents and wish I could talk to them one more time. Hang in there, girl. You have another angel smiling down on you from heaven!
